Is it always like this?

by studentteacher83 @ Tuesday, 26. Feb, 2008 - 19:57:20

I've only been back at school two days and I'm already feeling frazzled. I've had comments about my haircut, I've been asked if I whiten my teeth, asked if I smoke (I don't), asked if I'm sure I don't smoke because I smell of it (I really don't - perhaps it was just steam coming out of my ears), I've had my hair ruffled and have generally been run off my feet.

Somehow I'd forgotten that it's not all plain sailing in the classroom.

One of my form turned up yesterday wearing a 'fancy' belt. We don't have a strict guideline on the maximum thickness of belts but if it looks remotely fashionable then it's probably not allowed. What I don't understand is these wide belts. I'm not an expert on such things so stand to be corrected but as far as I can tell they don't actually have the property of holding up trousers as they don't appear to be connected to anything. But if a girl says their trousers will fall down without it then it's not something I'm willing to put to the test. Answers on a postcard please.

i'd say wide belts worn over a shirt = fashion statement

only 6 weeks to go :))

Actually because of the early Easter we've got a long long long long weekend - an extra four days off!

If the belt is wider than the skirt then something's not right :))

Aha, good logic

Do you think a postcard is large enough? I reckon, that the answers need to accommodate the size of the belt.

As for your personal attributes, you have them because you don't indulge in the habits the dear darlings are suggesting you should acquaint yourself with. :)

Their suggestion was that I'd done a Richard Hammond, though I wonder if they were hoping I'd crash a car at nearly 300mph.

Did RH turn out rather well after his 300mph crunching activity?

Like womens fashion is ever meant to do what it says it does.

In my old school it was all about the studded belts, people would steal other peoples studs and attach them to their polo shirts, no matter how much the teachers whine about it. I really do feel sorry for teachers, school brings out the worst in teenage brats.

It's such a mistake putting so many young minds together. They can 'plot', let's face it you wouldn't put 1400 master-criminals in the same building.

Haha.

It's not even like you can kick them out either, you're stuck with them unless they basically rape a member of staff.

Although, it must be rewarding to see at least one kid working hard or participating. ^_^
