I agree that a change, no matter how small, often comes as a much-needed breath of fresh air.
Also, I think that every adult who works in a school should be given a free flu jab before the end of October half-term. more…

I would say there's an example of a need for a flu jab, except my own experience of the darn thing led me to believe I'd have been better of catching the bug. Then there's the little element of problems that aren't flu, so that bit of advice would really be redundant.
That leaves me to say oh dear, I am sorry for the other teachers, h more…

I have top sets with between 32-34 students (my room has only 30 desks and 30 chairs) and I also have bottom sets with between 28-30 students. In our school, the set has no relevance to the number of kids in the class. In fact, several walls have been knocked down recently and we are now being urged to teach 60 students in a large room with only on more…

Heehee!
My lad was telling me about these just yesterday! Apparently the head, during assembly, told them ... if any of them wore one in school he would confiscate it and send it to their parents with a letter of explanation (and advising them to google 'shag bands') :))
No, my kid doesn't wear one :P more…

I teach at 3.15 pm on Friday afternoon, giving extra help to two students, and the school seems dead by then. What is to be expected?
A lot of offices are quiet at 3.00 pm on Friday. This is normal.
